UCF Adds Louisville Transfer Darius Perry

The UCF Knights add veteran experience and leadership in its backcourt with the transfer-addition of 6-foot-2 guard Darius Perry.

Head Coach Johnny Dawkins and his UCF Knights have added a guard from the Atlantic Coast Conference for the 2020-21 season. On April 27, the Knights announced the incoming transfer of former Louisville Cardinals guard Darius Perry. Perry will finish his sport-administration undergraduate degree in just three years and will be immediately eligible to play for UCF next season.

“We’re excited to welcome Darius into our UCF family,” Dawkins said, per the official release. “He has a lot of experience [playing] at a high level and will bring leadership to the point guard position for us. He’s a terrific player and a great young man. We’re all looking forward to having Darius with us for the 2020-21 season.”

Perry started 40 of his 100 appearances for the Cardinals, averaging 4.8 points per game and 1.8 assists per game in 16.6 minutes per game. His best season was his last at Louisville, wherein he 26 of 31 games while shooting a career-high 38.9% from 3-point range while scoring 5.2 points per game.

The 21-year-old joins freshmen Isaiah Adams and Jamille Reynolds in UCF’s incoming 2020-21 class.
