Can you think of anyone more fitting? Sure you can, but it’s too late now.
According to a report by RollingStone.com’s Daniel Kreps, Donald Glover will take on the role of the famed Star Wars role of Lando Calrissian. Glover will play a younger version of Calrissian in a spin-off Star Wars film about a younger Han Solo. The smooth-talking, quick-shooting (yes, he shot first) smuggler will be played by Alden Ehrenreich after being famously portrayed by Harrison Ford in four previous Star Wars films.
Like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this so-far-untitled Han Solo movie will take place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller said in a statement. “These are big shoes to fill and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
Per a report by HollywoodReporter.com’s Aaron Couch, the new film will detail how Calrissian lost the Millennium Falcon to Solo. Here’s what Lucasfilm had to say in a statement.
This new film depicts Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld—years before the events involving Han, Leia and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.
The untitled film is set to release in May 2018.
