The overhaul of Orlando City SC’s roster continues, as the Lions have made another offseason trade.
On Dec. 11, City announced a trade that will send center back Amro Tarek to the New York Red Bulls. In return, the Lions will receive a natural fourth-round pick in the 2019 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Tarek started 19 of his 20 appearances for City, playing 1,697 minutes and scoring a goal in a 3-3 draw with the New England Revolution on Aug. 4.
The 26-year-old made his international debut for the Egyptian men’s national team in a 3-0 win over the Togolese men’s national team on March 28. Tarek, born in Los Angeles, California, also played for the U-20 United States men’s national team.
By trading Tarek, City now have five picks in the 2019 draft: No. 3, No. 27, No. 59, No. 94 and No. 96.
