Until now, Kong: Skull Island trailers didn’t feature any Brie Larson speaking parts. In the film’s latest trailer that was released on Monday, the 27-year-old featured prominently throughout, adding humor, an ominous message and attitude in the nearly two-and-a-half-minute trailer.
In addition to hearing Larson speak, the classic relationship between the female protagonist and Kong is shown, as she is shown touching a docile Kong, and she is shown being rescued by him.
The film’s latest trailer also shows significantly more action with the skull-crawlers, the giant, lizard-like monsters that John C. Reilly‘s character Hank Marlow has so aptly named.
Reilly’s character also speaks a slightly altered or new line in the trailer.
In a trailer released in the middle of November, Reilly’s character says, “That’s Kong. He’s king around here,” at the 1:16 mark. In the trailer released Monday, Reilly makes one subtle change to that line at the 1:10 mark: “That’s Kong. He’s God on the island.”
Kong: Skull Island is not lacking any star power, as it will star Larson, Reilly, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman. It is also directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. The film is set for a March 10 release date.
