Goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer has been waived by the Orlando Pride, the team announced on Feb. 4. Her time in Central Florida wasn’t long, but the University of Michigan product made an impact where she could.
Kopmeyer joined the Pride in 2018 and subsequently made 13 appearances over the next two seasons, three in 2018 and 10 in 2019. In her first season in purple, she made earned one National Women’s Soccer League Save of the Week honor and won five, including three consecutive from Week 9 to Week 11, in 2019.
The 29-year-old entered the league in 2013 and has made 60 appearances since, totaling 337 saves and 12 shutouts.
“On behalf of everyone at Orlando Pride, we would like to thank Haley for her contributions throughout her time in Orlando,” Pride GM Erik Ustruck said, per the release. “Haley has given seven years of her life to growing women’s soccer and the NWSL. We respect her decision to explore new opportunities, and we wish her the best of luck in her new chapter moving forward.”
