Orlando City SC goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar will finally get a chance to play between the posts with the Lions’ latest move.

On Friday, the club announced it loaned Stajduhar to United Soccer League Championship side Tulsa Roughnecks FC for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Soccer season.

Stajduhar made his way to Orlando City’s first team after playing for the club’s U-23 academy team. The 21-year-old homegrown player was ranked fourth-overall nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com in 2015.

His soccer career was placed on a temporary hold when, in 2017, Stajduhar was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Stajduhar was removed from all soccer-related activities for the rest of the 2017 season and spent the entirety of the 2018 season recovering. Since then, he has been cleared for all soccer-related work in the 2019 season.

Tulsa finished the 2018 season with the fewest wins in the league, going 3-19-12 and finishing with the second-fewest points (21).
