The Orlando Pride have made another roster adjustment ahead of the 2019 season. This time, it was a subtraction.
On Jan. 25, the team announced it waived defender Poliana Barbosa Medeiros.
“On behalf of the Pride, I want to thank Poliana for her contributions and wish her the est of luck as she explores a new playing opportunity,” new Pride General Manager Erik Ustruck said, per the release.
Poliana played 694 minutes across 10 matches, including starting six games in a row in which the Pride went 3-2-1. Per the Pride, Poliana “expressed a desire” to return to Brazil, her home country, at the end of the 2018 season.
