Orlando City SC is moving on without one of its original goalkeepers Earl Edwards Jr.
On Dec. 19, City announced they traded Edwards Jr. to D.C. United for a second-round pick in the 2019 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. The 26-year-old was drafted by Orlando City in the 2015 draft and made 15 saves in six regular-season starts from 2015 to 2018.
Edwards Jr. was most utilized this past season, starting five matches and going 1-3-1.
In addition to trading away Edwards Jr., the Lions also added goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh from Louisville City FC.
Orlando City now have seven picks for the upcoming draft on Jan. 11, 2019, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. The Lions own the No. 3, No. 27, No. 38, No. 59, No. 75, No. 94 and No. 96 picks.
