Second Half NDR Notes

  • UCF dominated the interior against UConn, out-rebounding the Huskies (38-26) and scoring more points in the paint (30-24).
  • The Knights forced 12 Huskies turnovers, as they only recorded 11.
  • UCF went 21-for-34 at the free-throw line, as UConn went 10-for-11.
  • UConn’s Terry Larrier led the Huskies with a 15-point, 6-rebound performance, going 6-for-16 from the field, including 3-for-6 from 3-point range.
  • The Knights were led by B.J. Taylor’s game-leading 20-point night, as he went 7-for-10 from the field but just 5-for-10 from the free-throw line.
  • For UCF, A.J. Davis and Ceasar DeJesus were most effective from the charity stripe, as they shot 7-for-10 and 5-for-6, respectively.
  • In his second game as the primary 5, Chad Brown posted 10 points and 8 rebounds (3 offensive) in 27 minutes before fouling out. Brown also had 2 blocks, a steal and no turnovers.

First Half NDR Notes

  • Both teams combined for six points, three each, six minutes into the first half.
  • The Knights shot 44.4 percent (12-for-27) from the field, as UConn shot 36 percent (9-for-25).
  • Guards B.J. Taylor and Dayon Griffin were the only Knights to make more than one field goal in the first half, as Taylor went 3-for-3 for 6 points, and Griffin went 2-for-5 for 5 points off the bench.
  • UConn’s Terry Larrier led both teams in scoring in the first half with 11 points on 4-for-11 shooting. No other player attempted double-digit field goals.
  • Six UConn players attempted field goals, as all 10 of UCF’s players who’ve recorded minutes attempted at least one shot.
  • UCF finished with 5 assists and 4 turnovers, as UConn had 6 assists and 5 turnovers.
  • Chance McSpadden made his first appearance for UCF since Dec. 31. He played 3 minutes and went 1-for-1 for 2 points.
