The drama surrounding Canadian forward Cyle Larin could soon come to an end, but there are still some details to finalize.
According to CNN’s Turkish affiliate, Beşiktaş J.K. and Orlando City SC have agreed to a transfer fee of £1.85 million, which equates to approximately $2.3 million. But that report was disputed, as City have not agreed to anything.
“We haven’t anything new to report, and, at this moment, we didn’t agree [to] terms with Beşiktaş,” City vice president of communications Diogo Kotscho said, according to a report by ProSoccerUSA.com’s Alicia DelGallo and Iliana Limón Romero.
ProSoccerUSA.com also reported negotiations are ongoing, and a deal is expected “very soon.”
City hired attorney Marcos Motta to protect their rights, as the dispute between Larin, City and Beşiktaş revolves around the legitimacy of a club option City believe is still active. Larin and Beşiktaş have otherwise disregarded Orlando, as the 22-year-old forward missed the first day of City preseason and was seen training with Beşiktaş a day later.
Wow. Multiple reports out of Turkey that Cyle Larin is in training with Besiktas today. This video appears to confirm it. https://t.co/mKoJlsxAMc

Larin’s intentions had been made clear since the end of the 2017 Major League Soccer season.
“I think I’m at the right place to go play in Europe, and it’s the right time,” Larin told DelGallo and the Orlando Sentinel on Oct. 25, 2017. “I think I’ll benefit. I have personal goals and dreams, and I want to go to Europe and play. I think it’s the right time.”
While FIFA hasn’t been involved yet, Beşiktaş reportedly said it would seek a temporary license to allow Larin to play if a deal isn’t reached with City, according to ProSoccerUSA.com. City officials were unaware of the request.
