Second Half NDR Notes

  • UCF allowed 65 or more points for the fourth time this season, as Wichita State scored 81 points.
  • Dayon Griffin and B.J. Taylor led the Knights in scoring, recording 15 and 12 points, respectively.
  • Wichita State’s Shaquille Morris tallied a game-high 19 points on 8-for-10 shooting, including 1-for-2 from behind the arc.
  • The Knights shot 52.4 percent (11-for-21) from the free-throw line and 36.1 percent from the field.
  • UCF finished with only 10 turnovers, significantly better than its 14.9 turnovers per game.
  • The Knights are now 1-1 without center Tacko Fall.
  • Wichita State increased its lead to as high as 21 with 45 seconds left in the game; UCF came as close as eight points by halftime.

First Half NDR Notes

  • The Knights were led in scoring by the hot shooting of Dayon Griffin off the bench, as he scored a game-high 10 points in the first half on 3-for-5 shooting, including 2-for-4 from 3-point range.
  • UCF trailed by as much as 16 (36-20), but the Knights closed the half on an 11-3 run to pull within eight points.
  • Nine of Wichita State’s 10 players scored in the first half, as Shquille Morris led the Shockers with 9 points.
  • The Knights went 5-for-13 from 3-point range in the first half; they average 4.89 made 3s per game and attempt 15.8 3s per game.
  • Forward A.J. Davis and point guard Terrell Allen faced foul trouble in the first half, as they finished the first half with three and two fouls, respectively.
