Richardson joined the Knights as a four-star recruit and spent most of the 2017 championship season on the bench.
The 6-foot, 248-pound back originally committed to the University of Maryland but flipped his decision to the Knights.

After running for 3,467 yards and 28 touchdowns, averaging 8.8 yards per carry, in high school, Richardson was sought after by the likes of Michigan State University and the University of Oklahoma.
At UCF, he ran for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, averaging 3.6 yards per carry.
Per Toribio, the departure of long-time UCF assistant Sean Beckton played a role in Richardson’s decision to transfer.
Richardson is the second player to seek a transfer since Frost left with the 2017 staff to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Backup quarterback Noah Vedral will join Frost with the Cornhuskers for the 2018 season.
