The hit TV show Rick and Morty is on its way to a third season. Mike McMahan, a writer on the Adult Swim animated series, posted an image on Twitter to confirm the start of production.

It was only fitting for fans to hear this news after Adult Swim Australia’s YouTube channel trolled fans with what was supposedly the opening scene of Season 3. Instead, it was a mash-up of scenes from previous episodes that forged Rick Astley‘s Never Gonna Give You Up.

Rick and Morty‘s latest episode aired on Oct. 4, 2015. Co-creator Dan Harmon addressed the delay in January, according to a report by IndieWire.com’s Michael Schneider.

“I’m so sorry,” Harmon said, per Schneider’s report. “I don’t have a release date for Season 3. It’s not that I know it and I’m not allowed to say it; it’s [Adult Swim’s] domain. What I will tell you is it’s late because of us; it’s late because of me.

“If [co-creator] Justin [Roiland] were here, he’d agree,” Harmon said, per Schneider’s report. “He and I would go, ‘Yeah, we —-ed up,’ and it’s hard to put your on how we —-ed up. Rick and Morty keeps taking longer and longer to write, and I don’t know why.”

Now, it appears the show is well on its way to a 2017 return. While there is no confirmed release date, Mr. Poopy Butthole, a character who appears in Episode 204, did tease that Season 3 would come out “in, like, a year and a half…or longer.” That places the release date sometime in March.
